During game, though I haven’t played in years, I always worried that looking at tables all the time would take away some of the movement forward - the action - making the game boring for the players. How do you cope with this?
I find a couple of things help a) picking the moment to use the table well, players are often planning or discussing with each other, so whilst they are thinking or engaged, that's when I roll stuff b) sometimes I roll stuff ahead of time, you can pre-roll an NPC's reaction in prep if you like!
Never thought of this before, but of course, a person’s actions will change how people perceive them 😊
