This is great!

I've always been inspired by Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, with combination traps.

You could easily string three of these together for something truly devilish😈

Absolutely! Just roll multiple times on different tables and you can cook up some really crazy stuff. Combine a load of components and triggers to make the worst escape room you can imagine haha

Here's what I came up with…

This is awesome! Using it in my dungeon creation, however, I have noticed one thing which feels like it is missing - a "magical components" option. Something I might throw together and throw in this chat once I get round to it!

True! My reasoning for that is that the implementation of magic varies wildly from setting to setting.

For example, a magic system based on plants would use different species as catalysts. Whereas a magic system that’s more ‘modern DnD middle fantasy’ might be using sigils, crystals and such.

It would just be impossible to be exhaustive!

That makes perfect sense!

For me, I've given a go at that "generic fantasy" feeling but I think this is probably wide enough to encompass most not-niche systems!:

1. Mineral. *Crystal, magic sand*

2. Being. *Elemental, pixie*

3. Plant. *Magical herb, glowing blossom*

4. Construct. *Arcanotech, scroll*

5. Symbol. *Rune, Sigil*

6. Ethereal. *Arcane fire, motes, sparks of magical energy*
