And acting on your advice i’ll try starting to be more active posting about the game i’m working on. Have written a couple of introductory posts about it here if you did fancy having a read! :) https://open.substack.com/pub/madquillsgames

Shoot I missed the deadline to submit my question.

I want to create a game that us about running a political campaign, where you have no control of the candidate who gets into one blunder or scandal after the next (clearly a set of tables).

The party in the game serve as different members of the campaign staff (speech writer, communication director... Basically character tropes from the West Wing).

The group is running the campaign through the entire section season that include primaries, debates, dodging political ads, navigating political attacks and rogue news outlets over the entire course of the campaign season. This while one, political catastrophe happens one after the other.

Several other NPCs are trying to get their candidates elected by the end of the game.

The end of the game is election night with the game starting at the very beginning of the election season.

I'm putting this out there for a few reasons, one I don't have the capacity to really make this game - which could be halarious...two, please someone make this game!

Three (and my real question) which system would you use to make this crazy game? I was thinking pbta or FiTD.... Go.

Because of how much structure you have in mind.... yeah I'd go FitD. I prefer FitD to PbtA, but PbtA probably works great too. It sounds like the Blades in the Dark city factions just reoriented into politics!

Exactly. I think it could be really fun and a way to mock the ridiculousness of politics and engage in fun roleplay.

I just don't have the bandwidth to ever really develop a game like this, but maybe one of your other 2,999 readers do! 😂.

I'll back it immediately if I see it on bakerkit or KS....

Thank you for this Q&A and especially for that first bit of advice. It is realistic, but also gives me the encouragement to keep going.
